What skills and tools make the journey more enjoyable and the outcome even delightful? In this dynamic one-day retreat, my colleagues and I will engage you in skills, techniques and practices that can help you answer The Call to A Larger Life inherent in every transition. AND - we’ll have fun, too! Answering the Call to a Larger Life: An Inside Job
Retreat Leader Coach Elizabeth Austin shares how to design your life from the inside out, freeing you to claim your birthright of authentic personal power and happiness. She delivers the subject matter with honor and a great sense of humor, so be prepared to enjoy yourself. She has assembled a brilliant team of colleagues to round out this holistic retreat. To further support your journey, Elizabeth will host a follow-up group conference call as well as provide a follow-up private coaching session for each retreatant, by phone or in person. Read what others say about Elizabeth below.
Topic: Evolution of a Dream
Ideas and dreams -- if the time is right and they serve the highest good -- take on a life of their own. Ask Sharon Mehdi, who wrote the internationally acclaimed book, The Great Silent Grandmother Gathering, about two grandmothers who stand in the park to save the world. Sharon will take us through the nine steps in Robert Schuller's “Evolution of a Dream,” using her story as an example. She will show anything and everything is possible when we dare to dream.
Topic: Energy Techniques for Times of Transition
Our bodies and all things in the universe are connected by a sea of energy that has a resonant frequency. Energy Therapy Practitioner Becky Ruffing introduces us to some ways to access this energy using touch and focused intent. She will show us how to use a three-step process to release limiting patterns and lead us in a process to balance our personal energy systems. She will provide handouts so techniques can be continued at home.
Topic: From Physical Exams to Sacred Shimmies: Claiming the Well Body
Dr. Robin Rose, physician, woman in transition, belly dancer, and more, provides valuable information about self-care, our relationships with health care providers, what lab work every woman should track, and how transition stresses the body. She will share how belly dance creates movements for touching inner wisdom and inner beauty as we unfold in transformation.
Topic: The Balanced Weigh for Healthy Transitions and Beyond
If we want to live healthy, fulfilled and satisfying lives, it all begins with real food and physical activity. Many times we forget the intimate connection between the physical and spiritual. Linda Willis, Ed.D., will help us sort through the miasma of misinformation on what to eat and how to exercise.
Barbara Zollinger, performance artist who celebrates life’s great Mystery through poetry, song, and creative writing, will sing our theme song, “From the Inside Out.”

“I have experienced a big turn around in the last two plus years ... out of my "velvet lined rut" and into a life of expanding potential and freedom that I could never have imagined before. I am very aware that these new doors were conceived while attending Elizabeth Austin's "Life Quest" coaching intensive in 2003, and then lovingly opened during ongoing monthly group follow-ups.
“I hope that anyone on the cusp of change would gift themselves with this juicy one-day retreat - a whole day to flesh out YOUR dreams! Elizabeth takes you through a series of activities that help you identify what really feeds your soul, what's missing in your life, what new possibilities grab your attention and then propel you through your growing edge. This year she has added new inspiration in the form of five amazing women who have realized their missions ... and have much to share to empower your "call to a larger life.” Becky Hale, M.S., Art Therapist & Energy Therapy Practitioner, Medford, OR
“My life has assumed mythic proportions thanks to Elizabeth’s wise and gentle coaching. For starters, I've realized my dreams of a lifetime of having a home in Carmel-by-the-Sea and going around the world on the QE2. Now I'm primed to make my contribution to the world via ElderWealth.” Elaine Larson, Information Architect, San Rafael, CA
“Elizabeth is amazingly insightful… she zeroes right in on the main issue in any given moment and helps me with that, which in turn creates clarity about surrounding issues. She doesn't focus attention on the stories behind issues, but instead encourages changing counterproductive behavior with a very concrete, specific, step-by-step approach. Along with saving a great deal of time and energy, this approach focuses me on what I can do instead of what I haven't done; i.e., the positive instead of the negative.” Katie Daley, award winning Poet and Performer, Cleveland, OH
“I have found Elizabeth to be a truly wise counsel for my personal and professional journey. Her call is always into the larger life, and I credit my work with her for much of the incredible expansion I have experienced in my spiritual practice and my daily living.” Linda Reppond, Owner, “Lunch for Your Soul” & Ministerial Student, Seattle, WA
“Elizabeth is extremely flexible, very inventive when it comes to helping with creating, and then achieving goals and projects. She is prompt about answering all e-mails, and there is a special warmth and personal touch in both her verbal coaching and e-mail messages - always a word of encouragement!” Robyn Flamer, M.A., Adult Education Teacher, New York City
“Elizabeth's patience with me, her understanding of human nature was just what I needed. I felt safe in her presence and understood. Elizabeth is an intelligent, alert, sensitive person who practices what she preaches, a rare quality in most of us. I am and will always be grateful.” Ellen McSorley, Sisters of Mercy, Ashland, OR
“Elizabeth comes from a grounded base of knowledge - - the whole, real person. She listens really well and comes up with ideas that I can relate to. I feel validated, appreciated, and inspired.” A.W., Senior Manager, international consulting firm, Shady Cove, OR
